Here's a very handy tool for changing 30 x 3 1/2 tires. I use a pair of these when I change tires and they really help make the job easier. They act as a bead breaker, tire spreader, and the handle can be used like a tire iron. I carry a set in our "on the road tools" and keep a set in the toolbox at home. Luckily we haven't had to use them away from home yet.
I also carry a pair of Sioux tire Tool Clamps in all my Ts with 30 inch wheels and keep a pair in my shop.
I use them to keep the tire from slipping off the rim when I working on the other side. I sell new tires and offer free mounting so I use them frequently. I also use some other specialty tools. My number one tool is a Weaver Tire Mounting Fixture
I also occasionaly use a Dayton R Mfg Co tool. It will also clamp the bead in place while you are working on the other side. I don't use it as often because it is slower.
A very handy tool is the Giant hand. With this tool you can role the bead into the cup on the rim.
I bought the next tool thinking that it would be a large tool like the Sioux Clamp but have not found a use for it yet. I took it to our Wednesday Coffee with about 10 quys and we played with it for a hlf hour and did not figure it out. We even tried changing bolts around and it still does not work like a clamp unless you rear back on the handle. To do that you would need two people one to hold the handle back and the other to mount the tire. One of the guys said that it made a good converstaiton piece for that day. It is a HERBRAND NUMBER 1129. Maybe someone can look up the Patent and fique out how to use this tool.
Maybe the HERBRAND is a medical tool!
