What other running board accessories are out there? I know of the tool boxes, tire pump, luggage holder, this wonderful kitchenette, the milk carrier, the fuel, oil, and water canteens, and the spare tire brackets. What else did those wacky inventors come up with back then?

Some others would be running board step plates, coca fiber rug mats for the running board, pole mounted search lamps, battery boxes, and dress up lanterns for running board lighting.....probably many more things too

There was a neat dog box fitted to a running board at the centennial. I think it was on Ben Hardimans Model T

I noticed a drawer for eggs - after a few miles of old roads, is that scrambled or blended

Adrian, I think the eggs were harder back then, laid by chickens who probably strode around the yard wearing sweatshirts, smoked cigars and turned their caps sideways. You had to fight them for the eggs <grin>.

Actually, if the egg drawer is lined similar to the egg crates of the day, they would probably hold up pretty well as long as you didn't bounce them against the top of the drawer in your travels.

Peter I sold a nice dog box at the Centennial, included the original cover and tags, I have collected accessories for 50 plus years, but only hold them till $$$ runs short

I bought the "Bird-Dog Palace" from John at the Centennial. I cleaned it up, repainted it after carefully masking the original "Duco" decal, and replaced the old canvas material of the top, back, straps, and roll down curtain. My daughter found the perfect stuffed dog to put in it, a sheepdog so you can't really tell if its stuffed or just asleep.

Its one of a number of things we show with the T at shows and displays, and always gets attention. We also have several versions of picnic sets, not as elaborate as the Kitchenette, from 1914, 22, and 26; an item called a CarRobe which was basically a smaller version of a steamer trunk (holding clothes on hangers vertically) to fit on the running board; a running board trunk with a set of fitted luggage (also obtained at the Centennial); a running board cooler from 1925 (all metal icebox basically); and a set of running board luggage sized to fit the length and width of standard T running boards and held on by a set of rope clamps. I've been looking for a Kitchenette and a folding table that mounted to the running boards.

The accessories are fun to collect, and add alot of interest to the T. The local High School Car Club ran a little car show at the Relay for Life event last Spring and I took the T and many of the accessory items over to display. Had a blast talking to all the visitors about the car, the times, and the accessories.

My daughter just reminded me that we also have a cat carrier to go with the dog carrier - it doesn't go on the running board though...

How about a photo of the dog carrier? Sounds interesting.

The sun has actually melted enough snow that I might be able to get the doors on the T-shed open tomorrow and will try to get a couple pix.

OK - so here we have all the storage facilities for the auto-kitchen. How about a fireplace? Was that then made as just a fire on the ground? No gas driven stove or anything?

but nothing to indicate an exact match.

I did however find the patent for Wayne’s “Bird Dog Palace”.
Sorry Wayne, your Palace turned out to be a “Dog Crate” and
it appears like that patent was cancelled.

Yeah, but this is the "Deluxe" version with the nifty handle on the bar lift, snap closure, and at no extra cost, a brass nameplate....

Also, "Bird Dog Palace" sounds soooo much more marketable than "Dog Crate".

That Bird Dog Palace, sure looks like a Bird Dog Jail, what with those big bars.

Wow, I want to go camping with you guys, looks like all the comforts of home will be right there on the running board!
