I want to thank those who responded to my question about seat belts. I had no idea this was a hot enough issue for the moderator to shut it down. It was not my intent to cause trouble on the forum. It is too valuable a resource to all of us. I will review previous threads to get your past ideas on the subject. In the meantime, Happy New Year, and safe Model T'ing to all in 2013. Joe
All of the 2012 threads were locked when the New 2013 Forum was started.
No, your question did not close the thread....Father Time did!
December 31st ends all postings for that year...New Year, new groupings...
Hope that you and yours have a Healthy New Year !
(And Best wishes to fellow Forum Members.)
(a) Every January 1st, I forget that the forum from the previous year was shut down at midnight and that a new one was started.
(b) Then, when I realize it, I vow to remember the next time it happens a year later.
(c) Go back to (a).
I cannot imagine that anything that would be added onto a thread about seat belts could get it shut down here. Not after some of the personal attacks I have read on the OT/political threads. I will admit that I did not look in on it because it is a topic I feel strongly about, but do not like to comment on much. (None of my antiques get seat-belts)
So, continue your discussion.
Happy New Year! And do drive carefully. W2
I do not have seatbelts in my open T, I might consider them in a closed car. There are just too many variables to consider, seatbelts can be shown to save lives in a T, and they can be shown to take lives, depending on the accident. I think they would be lethal in a slow rollover in an open T. Here is a link to a rollover a few years ago with some teenagers driving.
