I thought the whole purpose of the dog bone style was for easy on, easy off turning. Why then add a flip top or vice-versa? It looks too "busy" for my taste on a Model T. Fill the hole with a Motometer and it's a bit much.

Perhaps it's made for a carnival ride. :-)
