Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in
dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. A 'heads up' for
those men who may be regular customers at Home Depot, Costco, auto parts stores, or even
Wal-Mart. This one caught me totally by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping .. Simply going out to
get parts and supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough
to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.
Here's how the scam works: two nice looking, college-age girls will come over to your car or truck as you are packing your purchases into your vehicle.
They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. (It's impossible not to look). When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' but instead ask for a ride to McDonald's. You agree and they climb into the vehicle. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen Nov. 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, again on the 17th, 20th, 24th, and the 29th. Also Dec. 1st, 4th, 8th, twice on the 10th and 12th, and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of us older men.
Warn your friends to be vigilant.
By the way, Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found even cheaper ones for $.99 at the Dollar Store and bought them out in three of their stores.
Also, you never get to eat at McDonald's. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth from home, to Home Depot, to Wal-Mart.
So please, send this on to all the retired men that you know and warn them to be on
the lookout for this scam. The best times are just before lunch and around 4:30 in the afternoon.
One of my all-time favorites. A classic.
Toooo gooood Bob. LMAO!
I can respond right now - I'm on my way to Walmart!
If you see his ....
Run away .....
Before I realized it was a joke, I thought, "How stupid of him. You would have thought he would have learned his lesson the first time". Then, I realized it was a joke. Old age also causes the thinking process to slow down.
I'm not sure it will work on a scroungy old man in a Model T at -9 degrees but I'll give it a try. Will let you know.
Maintenance costs, that's why!!
Hey, I'm not that expensive.
Some things can make your mind change places.
After that you can lose your wallet!
The good news is, once you lose your wallet
the women seem to lose interest .....
Wish I lived i San Diego.
The scam of the day, here in Tampa Bay is buying an Ipad at Walmart, take it home, open the box and find a bunch of legal note pads instead of the Ipad.
I am in Anaheim right now .....
Dropped off today - waiting for a load to develop.
Beautiful right now, probably 70 degrees with a light breeze ....
Good reply ...
Just take a white cane and tap your way in and out of the store. Should be safe. Might try dropping some Monopoly money on the ground too. :-)
Where do I find these girls?
A cheap wallet with a $5 tip in it should work well.
It was 77 degrees here in Florida and misting most of the day. A swap meet Sunday, but suppose to rain. Bummer
Richard, if it wouldn't affect the orange crop, I'd wish our weather on Florida just to make you feel bad. Naw, no I wouldn't I'm just trying to mess witch ya. And beside by this time tomorrow I'll be in Arizona and smiling for the next week or so.
Richard, not nearly as bad as your iPad scene, but I once bought a set of plugs for one of my GTOs. Drove 24 miles home only to discover that someone else had returned them prior to the auto shop with used plugs in them.
The near 50 mile round trip was bad enough but when I got there and explained the situation, the non-customer service manager actually asked me, "How do I know you didn't just do this?"
This was close to 25 years ago back in my scrappin' days.
I looked at my buddy and then back at the guy and answered, "How do you know I'm not about to come across this counter?"
I got my replacement plugs and went home.
Were you a big guy then? Checked your profile and noticed your a pretty big guy now. LOL
Ordered a carb rebuild kit, for my '56 Ford Vicky, and when I opened the box, the only thing in the box was the invoice.
The first time this warning came around, there were good, illustrative, drOOlable pix.
Richard, not as heavy as I am now, but I was only a couple years out of the Army and still in very very good shape. Grin...
Oh and for the record, I really do like that pic Jim has posted. Whew.....
Does Marilyn know about this? If she ever reads this forum, she will never let you out of the house without her!
Yes, Fred Garvin is quite the ' LadyKiller ' ...
Ralph, Do you have a link to that first thread? I wouldn't mind a little drooling.
I found where I had forwarded it back in 2006, Steve, but no pix. Found a similar one with pic. Contact me at Rickydik on verizon.net .
Another awful thing that is happening -
Watch out for an email that is circulating, it is titled "Nude pictures of Hillary Clinton". Don't open it, just delete it!!!!! There are nude pictures of Hillary Clinton!
That would probably cause your monitor to explode.
Do these ladies look like the suspects?
Sigh. I want to be young again.
The older guy is new to the gym, and asks the trainer, "Which machine will make me look more attractive to all the nubile twinkies here?"
"The ATM in the lobby."
Danial,I guess that's why Realtors say "Get a Lot while you're young"
