although our 27 used to be a touring, but now a pickup, is there any way to fit a top? without it looking too bad??
Yes,if you can find a set of 26-27 roadster bows, they will work.
My 26 is the same deal as yours, a cut down touring. I made mine from some damaged touring bows by using the ends off of some and the tops off others. I spread the seam of the top pieces and cut a little so they would squeeze together a little smaller and fit inside the lower part then riveted the works together and smoothed with body filler.

John,
Also you will want to add the roadster top pivot to your front seat tub at the proper location. The 1926-27 roadster pivot is part number 48090X (available from the vendors see: http://www.modeltford.com/pl.aspx?t=s&v=48090X&page=1 ) For photos of what the part on the body looks like that the pivot is screwed into please see: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/48812.html?1203822298
Also the top rest see: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/30711.html?1181412908
You should be able to find some of those parts/brackets used.
If this is a real low budget project see also the “How to build a speedster top” at the Tulsa Tech page at: http://mtfctulsa.com/Tech/speedster_top.htm [many of us have low budget projects at various times in our lives – or at least I have/and still do].
Respectfully submitted,
