Saw this at the HME Sunday, but never saw the owner to ask how stable the mirror was.

The brass arm appeared to be maybe 1/4" thick; certainly not as good as a tube, but the transition to mirror and mount might be better.

It should be fitted with a gyroscope, like a Steadicam.

Good idea, Steve. Why don't you develop one?

Since you couldn't find the owner, I'll tell you.

It shakes a lot.

"A lot" is an understatement. Learning how to read the image in those mirrors is an art. I put one of those wide angle stick-on mirrors on mine just so I could see behind myself.

Each time I look into one of my rear view mirrors I have to take a moment to make sure I'm not having a seizure. One of the things I like about driving that thing though. The standard clamp on side mirrors are not bad, but the windshield top one is always about a 9.7 on the richter scale.
