Today, after gathering needed parts, and doing other repairs, my recently acquired '13 roadster started for the first time in over 60 years. Now, comes the fun part!

It's always a great feeling to hear them run after being silent for so long.

I love the sound of the Model T engine.

When a non-functioning, 100-year-old automotive relic is resurrected after sixty years and returned to the road, it's definitely cause for celebration among the brethren. Heartiest congratulations! Please take out your cell phone and document the first ride with snap-shots and video and post them so we can rejoice with you!

I had two basket cases. One a 1919
Touring and a 1917 Depot Hack. The '19 was in pieces and the Depot hack was built from scratch, the body from New York then engine from New York the Radiator from Ohio and the rest from my garage..

In either case, WTG...very cool.

(ahem) For example: although it hadn't sat for 60 years, my 27 Coupe had sat long enough for the distributor cap contacts to really corrode bad (comes with those cheap alum caps). I couldn't get the thing to fire to save my arse until I figured it out.

It's idling a little high here but moments afterward, Carol and I took it for a little joyride in 21 degree weather.

This was day before yesterday.

I'll get some pictures soon. It's still not all together yet. Apparently this car got a HCCA type restoration in the late '40s. I have footage of it at a HCCA event in 1950. I have unused registration stickers from the mid '50s indicating it wasn't used. It's got the original leather upholstery, but I don't know how much longer it's going to last.

It looks very good! Good luck on getting it running and enjoying it.

"HCCA type restoration"...by that do you mean an absolutely tragic choice of colors? My old Centerdoor suffered a '50s restoration that left it light metallic blue inside and out. But, like your '13, it was preserved with most of its original parts intact.

This '13 is lucky to have found a home with you. It will be well treated from here on.

Eric: That is exactly what I meant! It has changed a lot since I took those photos. Everything I do, goes back to original. Notice I replaced the '15 coilbox with a '13? I rebuilt the entire front end, and got rid of a lot of green when I did it, but my intent is to drive the car as is, and restore it along the way. A new top is next, along with a lot of other things! I drove it today. It now has 3.5 miles on it!
