What's the shovel for? Don't they go anywhere?

If it is a postman's snowmobile my guess the shovel was for digging out mail boxes or helping other stranded motorists.

I'd love to build a rig like this for when we get some good snow. Problem is we haven't gotten a good snow in at least ten years. Maybe I need to live up north.

Looks more like a Doctors coupe. Good picture. Anyone finding any adds or other information on snow units while doing research on any other things on the T's please copy and send to me.

Is it hard to convert a Model T to a snowmobile and back to a regular street T every year?

I'm asking because I live in a winter/summer area and this would allow me to use the T in both.

It might take a couple hours,but that was the
Idea in the beginning. I forgot the time they said it could be but I've done 4 of these units and there is no way in hell that there time frame could have worked. Something like 1/2 hour. Ha Ha.
1 Remove the tracks.
2 Remove the front idler wheel.
3 Remove the skies and spindle
4 Put orig. spindle on and remount the idler wheel on front axle spindle.
5 Unbolt idler axle and remove.
6 Reattach running board and fenders.
"Walla your done." just reverse to put back on for next winter. Some people might be faster than others.
NOTE: This is for the standard unit using the stock T rear axle.
Many owners would buy a used T for the assembly and just put it in the barn in the summer.
