I just got home from two weeks in San Antonio, Texas a couple hours ago. Came home from running the air conditioner in the car on the way to the airport to ten above and six inches or more of snow in Montana. Sorry I didn't get a chance to see anybody while I was down there, came past Lockhart where George House is last night about 1:30 AM on my way back from Houston, thought about George but decided it was pretty late to be looking at T's. I played the Chandelier Ballroom in Houston last night with the Bobby Flores Yellow Rose Band, had to get back to San Antonio to make sure I got the plane home today. I went down there and recorded a new CD with Bobby and some great Texas musicians, Bobby Flores, R J Smith & Hank Singer on fiddles, Randy Reinhard on steel, Jim Loessberg on drums and Jake Hooker on bass. I wanted to get by and see Grady Puryear in Fredricksburg and Terry Woods in Katy but I just ran out of time. We called time on the recording on Thursday at 5, went to Houston yesterday, played the Chandelier last night and came home today. I had told a couple people I would give them a call -- thought we would be done with the recording on Monday or Tuesday but it stretched out longer than we thought, I didn't want anybody to think I'd blown them off, I just didn't have time. On the 5th we played the Broken Spoke in Austin, back in the studio the next day. Didn't even get a chance to visit my brother who is spending the winter in San Antonio or my nephew who lives there. I'll be going back down later to finish some vocals and hopefully do a few more songs, will try to get time to see some T guys then. Never read the forum while I was gone, have to spend a couple hours reading and see what I missed.

Stan, you missed a political thread, but you don't have to look. You know what's there.

For anybody who's wondering about Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band, here are a couple of samples.

Stan, your trip thru San Antonio was to early for the MTFCI business meeting which is in San Antonio this year. Next week-end.
PS You missed visiting me also, I live just off I10 half way between Houston and San Antonio and I have a few model T's also.

Uncle Stan, sure sorry that we missed connections, I could have told you some stories about the "Busted Spoke" in Austin, it was a favorite hangout for all the old time Cedar Choppers and Charcoal Burners of my youth, it was way out in the country back then, they had a tree stump inside where they tossed their single and double bitted axes, and would fight a circle saw and give it a day's head start. Maybe next time - Grady

Grady, I sure hated to miss you, I should have called you Thursday night when we got done, had a couple things I needed to do so I could get to Houston on Friday, just not enough hours in the day. I hate flying because of that, trying to get flight connections out of here and back this time of year is hard and I was leery of driving and not being there for the beginning of the sessions at the studio due to bad roads or weather or something. It's almost 2,000 miles, too. Jake Hooker was coming down from Fort Worth to play on the session and a couple other guys were traveling a ways, figured I'd better make sure I was there. The studio time and musician time goes on whether you show up or not so I wanted to be sure to be there. We thought we'd be done maybe Tuesday noon but we kept adding stuff and going back over the tracks, re-singing the final vocals, etc. -- took more time than we thought. I'll be back down either later this year or next winter about this time. I'll drive next time if I can and spend a little more time there.

Thanks, Willie

We were also waiting for Stan to post some tractor pictures on that thread.
Now we know why we did not get any.
Let's see some of you tractors Stan, but not the one where the trailer flipped.
