My tank has a lot of rust through. I checked the vendors catalogs and they all declare "no 26-27 gas tanks". Am I out of luck or is someone secretly making them?
Steve
Steve,
Good used 26-27 tanks show up on Ebay frequently. Also swap meets and such.

Check out E-Bay seller Gunman63, you should be able to send him a message through e-bay
What would be so hard to make these tanks? No one seems to make them, and no one seems to want to. Why is that. Just curious, this issue has always fascinated me?
I have 7 good used ones in stock presently danuser88@ktis.net

Lots of parts, pieces, fittings, complex over the simple oval tank. Inside the cowl tank is the drain tube, plus above is the tray for over spill. Multiple baffles makes it even more of a job to replicate, soldering as you go from the inside to the outside.

Yeah Steve, they are not as simple as they may seem. Plus, as others have said, there are enough good ones still around that no manufacturer wants to commit to something he may make so little, if anything, on.
Shipping a used tank across the border may be a problem especially if there is even a hint of the smell of gas. I have not been able to find one locally. I guess I will have to work with what I have.
Thanks Steve
I shipped them all over the world and never had a problem with shipping.
Steve
Contact Mike Peterson or Mark Freimiller. Mike, I believe parts out Model T cars and Mark has Model T Haven in Kansas with acres of Model T cars, relics and parts. Mark has a website.
