By Hap Tucker on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 - 07:16 am:Page 142 -143 of “Model T Ford in Speed and Sport” mentions that a vacuum tank will be needed to run the “vertical or top outlet carburetor. … With the high carburetor position, some form of pressure fuel feed or vacuum tank will have to be used to raise the gasoline to the carburetor.” In that discussion they show a Frontenac 8 Valve head that has what appears to be the same or very similar vacuum tank.
From a Feb 2012 e-bay listing selling one of the G&G tanks the following was posted:
“….in the note supplied by FIREDAN , he mentions googling the GG vacuum tank. it appears it was supplied by the Chevrolet brothers in their OHV conversion kit with the FRONTENAC head , made for the model T ford. it was also used on early Chevrolet models. i have another tank that i am using on my fronty powered mercury T speedster, and this one will be a swell addition on an authentic early bug.”
Hopefully others will remember some better postings or have a brochure to reference etc.

May have been used on other smaller cars but I'm only guessing here.
By Alex Dragone on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 - 11:47 am:My uncle apparently had a Fronty catalogue from the 1920's and I did not know. It shows this exact vaccum tank on a Fronty race car. Why would the tank in the link provided by Howard be marked "Vacuum tank" and mine is marked "fuel system"?

It's a vacuum tank that was used on many cars of the era. Not near as popular as the Stewart Warner models however. The Grey automobile used them as standard equipment.
No matter what it says on the tank, it's a vacuum tank. "Fuel System" just sounded better I guess.
