what does the oil can bracket look like for the 1911 and 1915 year ford. is it spring loaded or snap in style?

Brackets for oil cans are all aftermarket accessories. Ford never supplied one.

So find any you like, I mounted my script can with a modern reproduction, off eBay, works fine.

Guess there wasn't any rubber cap on the oil can sprout from Ford? If the can was left full of oil under the rear seat in a Touring, then the floor would be both messy and rust proofed after a few miles?

Or was the can supposed to be left at home if you didn't buy a can holder?

I don't know if the vendors make one or one of our participants but I see them on e-bay every once in a while. Someone is making them and selling them.

Being cheap, I'd be inclined to make my own holder. But I did look in a couple of catalogues. Lang's and Mac's don't show it.

This is the one I got, was nice. But I did a bit of 'dress' to the flanges that hold on the can to make them a bit smaller. And 'distressed' it some to fake (hide the spot welds) ...to mimic as an old orignal....yea...bad...but you know

The steel bands used to hold heavy items on pallets for shipping. Nice and springy.

I know it's sacrilege to post these pictures, but this holder came from a Studebaker cowl - factory item for them thru the mid 20's - and is now covering some holes left from an ignition solenoid on my new car - not a T, but Ford anyhow...

Here's mine- made it using an old clipboard spring. Bolts into the existing wiring harness hole.
