I have been polishing some brass headlamps they are John brown model 19 can anyone tell me what years this headlamps were used on?: also the side lamps are John brown model 100 is this a match set?

The John Brown Model 19 are correct for 1911 and 1912, the side lamps John Brown Model 100 are correct for 1912, the tail lamp should be model 105 for the 1912. The correct side lamps for 1911 are John Brown Model 85 and tail lamps John Brown model 78 or 75. Reference page # 441 of Bruce's book "Model T Ford , the Car that Changed the World.

There were two types of rims on the Brown 19 headlamps, one was flat in the front which is the early style and the later more rounded , if the lamps are not correct for your car,I am looking for a pair of Brown 19s and would be interested in purchasing them.

While fully agreeing with Dave, I question whether there may have been still other editions of the #19 lamps. The Early 1913 Town Car illustration in Ford's Brochure appears to show a Black and Brass version of these lamps (realizing that this is a charcoal drawing and not a photo). I have 2 sets of these where one set has brass finials for the door hinge pins, whereas the other has plain rounded steel pins that are brass plated. Also known are that some of these have 3 exposed screws that secure the reflectors from the backs, where others have the reflectors secured with concealed soldered tabs.

Mike...Are these on the "Pie Wagon"?

Thank's for all the replys I am learning. I believe mine are early as they have the flat frount's I will have to look more to see the details as scott is refering to. John you are correct these are off Dad's new 10' pie wagon. The car is still very new to us and it is a very nice restoration, but it does seam to have it's fair share of later parts including the much later drive train (1920's) but then again we are enjoying alot of brass for the fraction of an all orignal and our plans are to tour the wheels off it. I am very hesitant to show pic's yet as I'm not ready for the scrutiny these early cars get on this forum. I will over time bring this car as close as I can to the early brass era but don't think it will ever see a open valve engine. Thanks again for your help.

Steve, I would if I could but am having a problem getting the pic's off the phone to the computer. working on the problem. If the car was running better I would drive it over for a visit. Or your always welcome at the shop. Right now I am giving Free brass polishing lessons to anyone who shows up
