I am looking for driver 450 x 21" tires- I saw Universal and Lucas have them for $99 each. Has anyone seen them cheaper? Or have some to sell?
Sounds like you're on a budget, James, but search Ebay. I have picked up at least a set and a half over the last few years, including a pair of rare NOS Firestone knobbies. All were new and less than the current retail price. sometimes I'd catch a restorer that sold his project or for some reason didn't use his new tires, and it was too late to return them where he bought them.
These are close to you if they are any good.
Ironically enough- those are mine and they aren't worthy of putting on a good car that is going to be driven a fair amount. I'd like to find new or near new rubber.
89.00 dollars for 21 inch
James, I've been to your house. Picked up some sheet metal. Do you remember?
i get tires given to me, often because they are "checked". ive put several thousand miles on a set of Garfield tires, with no real noticeable wear.
so long as you theres a fair amount of rubber on the sidewall you should be good.
Hey Rich- I think I do- you work at Carstar?
James, when I was there, I had a red ford P/U pulling an open trailer with three Model chassis on it. You lived west of Chicago.
New Model T tires are getting like new radiators.
They are something you have to have if you want to drive your T any considerable amount.
I finally spent the money for new tires and a new radiator for my 24 Coupe.
You can get lucky though.
I bought a nearly new set of Wards Riverside 30x3 1/2 at Chickasha for 100.00 2 years ago to use on my 21 Touring.
I havent got lucky enough to get any free ones yet.
Hey Roch- sure that was when I lived in Carol Stream, right? I remember you- had huge chunks of Model T rusty hulks on the truck?
That's me. Where do you live now?
I am in Oswego, IL about 40 minutes southwest.
