At Barrett Jackson you pay an entry fee plus 8% for a no reserve auction and 10% for an auction with a reserve price.

This is off Barrett Jackson site. Don't for get entry and tent fees! Then the cost of transportation if the auction is not in your area.

To sell a vehicle at Barrett-Jackson, the Consignor is responsible for an entry fee as well as a Seller's commission of 8% of the hammer price for No Reserve consignments or 10% of the hammer price for Reserve consignments. The entry fee is determined by day and time of your Lot entry and includes tent space. Payment of fees without a signed contract does not constitute a consignment agreement.

Don't forget the buyer’s premium at Barrett-Jackson. The buyer pays 10% of the gavel sale price. They call it the buyer's premium but the bottom line is that it comes out of the sellers pocket.

For example if a car sells for $100K, then the seller gets $92K and the buyer pays $110K. If the seller had sold the car on the street the seller would have paid $110K and the seller would have got $110K. It cost the seller $18K to sell the car.

I'm watching the B/J auction right and the bidders have lost their minds. Cars are going for 3 times what they're worth-4.2mil for the Batmobile!!!, $325,000 for a Olds 442 with no PB's or radio.!! I could probably get 125thou for my '24 Roadster, Don.

In my experience, it doesn't cost anything to sell a car at Barrett Jackson. The net in my pocket easily exceeded anything I could have got for the car selling it any other way, it was done in a day and I had the money via a good check from Barrett Jackson within a couple hours after the car sold. No warranty, no tire kickers, no BS, it sold for absolute top dollar plus several thousand more.

Unless there is something about the business I don't know after 30 years, I have not seen anyplace where you can get the kind of money for cars that you get at a well advertised, well run auction.

So Stan, you're saying $13,000 for a '69 Toyota Corona in good condition was more than the guy could have picked up on Ebay or Craigs list?
I had four of those cars. I think the most I ever paid for one was $200!

How about that bare T speedster about 10 years ago with no Ruckstel, no anything but nice body work and it went for...was it $52,000?

I have this old wheel borrow with good handles, do you suppose....eh, too far away.
