I picked up my first Model T this past fall and it has been a learning experience to say the least. I've been a car guy guy since I could walk but this is totally different. I met some of the nicest people along the way and have had tremendous help from two local Model T guys.
Here is a link to getting it running. I had it all together and the two local experts came over and adjusted the coils, timer and carb. The T fired up in a few seconds and purred like a kitten. A little more work and it's ready for the road.
Congrads Jim !! That looks and sounds great.
Nice job !
The old girl sounds great.
Henry would be proud of you. Good that it purrs. Hopefully you will soon be able to enjoy driving it.
One thing to remember, if it hasn't run since 1947 it probably has babbitt thrust washers in the rear end. Better check.
Doug, the rear end is apart and it did have babbitt thrust washers. This forum has been a life saver on information.
Drive carefully, and enjoy! W2
Sounds good. You're right, it's totally different. Fortunately we have books, and it ain't brain surgery. Good fun. You're going to enjoy driving it.
