ON the 26-27 cars with 11 inch brake drums, the portion that attaches to the hub is offset. If you attach a wire wheel hub to an earlier 8 inch drum, there is no offset.

What is the purpose of this offset, and do you need to do anything special to use wire hubs on the earlier cars with 8 inch drums?

They work ok,but if you are thinking of outside brakes,then you'd need a spacer.
