We had a rare day above freezing today and it seemed like a lovely time to park the daily driver and take the '24 speedster for a spin. Fittingly, I justified the seven-mile drive by mailing my 2013 membership dues to the NWVS (NorthWest Vintage Speedsters).

Wayne, here is a photo of that Dodge at the Arctic Circle last March. We went all the way to Tuktoyaktuk that trip, only 112 miles further north than Dean Yoder's run up to Inuvik. He went during summer and the ice road to Tuk is only open Dec to Apr.

My next trip to Inuvik will also be in June.
That is a MUST travel again road!

Took the '26 tudor out for a 15 mile winter driving jaunt yesterday too . . . . although it was 79 degrees F

Been to 66*33'N on the Haul Road (Dalton Highway) in Alaska in a '22 touring. Problem we had was not snow and freezing (just very cold) weather but mosquitos and 18 wheelers that were doing 100mph!

Daniel, that is my natural beard colour but it was much closer to ice this morning... my young Model T buddy and I went for an 18 mile run to drop his parts off to the machinist. He drove the return leg. It was about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday and we had a fair bit of 45 mph open road. Brrrr. Lots of honks and waves — you would think those drivers had never seen a red car before!

Carol thinks I'm nuts, but I'm hoping we get a real healthy snow fall again this year just so I can try out the knobbies on my coupe before I remove them this spring.
