I've just installed a new set of hard linings into my 13 Runabout matching that of the 13 Touring, but l would loose the brake pedal with 5 minutes of adjustment while driving.
Each time l'd return to my garage, re adjust and off again, pedal good near the top of the big hill, little pedal towards the bottom, no pedal just after.

The Dimple on the washer was less than half, allowing the nut to vibrate towards the end.

Hmmmmm you say, it did not fall off but could have.

When its cold again l have a new nut and washer to install, then the jobs done.

I have heard that you can not install hard linings without taking the trans/engine out and installing from the rear, NOT TRUE, it can be done without the use of removable ears, the hard lining band is guided around over the triple gears, slid back and cable tied off ready for the second and third...... and DONE.

I discovered that very problem, i ended up welding up the dimple and grinding it back down to a point. i had to get the car back on the road that day.

ON again, yep that one is better, you could hear it click, click, click as it turned against the spring.
