He first started a Hardware store in San Fransisco, if I remember right. He then started selling Model T's before there were dealerships. He personally communicated with Henry Ford and went to see him in Detroit many times. This might be him in the car.

Somewhere in one of my books I have read that during the 1906 San Fransisco earthquake he used some of his rescued cars from his dealership to transport injured people to hospital. It has been closed for about 30 years.
They advertised that they were the world's oldest Ford dealer.
By Bob Brewer - NorCal on Thursday, January 31, 2013 - 12:23 am:I was working down Van Ness Avenue at a Cadillac dealership when Hughson closed, and thought it a shame that Ford didn't step in to try and save their oldest store. They had a 1903 Model A in the showroom, I wonder where it is now?
