I need to change the steering on my Livingood 4X4. It is about 5 times as hard to turn when sitting still and the same when driving as a stock T. I know that they made a worm gear box
after market unit and I would like to get info. and one of these units. Any help out there.

Bob, I wonder if something is wrong. My Livingood T drives pretty much like any other T.

I understand that these 4x4 were made in both full time and part time 4x4. I wonder if that is the case here.

In regards to after market steering boxes I am reproducing some Ross cam and lever units. I have the worms (they are variable ratio just as the originals and made from 8620 steel) almost finished. I need to make of buy or borrow a 3/4" 36 tooth spline broach so I can cut the steering column splines inside the worms prior to case hardening. The originals used ball bearings but I have found some special Timken taper rollers that will fit perfectly and run right on the worm itself.
I have the cast bodies and machining them will be simple.
The pitman arm is simple. That being said they are at least 6 months away

You may be right, I've only driven mine in the yard. No licence and I live in town don't trust driving on the street yet.
