For those of you who aren't familiar, here is a song sung by Billy Murray, circa 1915, called "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along." It's really neat to hear a song about the T during the era!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gs_wqA8W_U
Just for the record (pun intended), the video is one that I found online, not one of my own!
Tried but failed to upload image of the sheet music. The cover art shows fords passing broken-down speedsters on the road, pointing and laughing; a mule hugging a telephone pole for safety;etc. "Greatest Comedy Song Sensation". Published 1914. I'll try to get one of the guys at work to upload it tomorrow. Greg
This was released on Edison Blue Amberol cylinder no.2556, as well as on Victor.Huge song in it's day.
Billy Murray is one of my favorites. Good stuff.

I have the orig.1915 sheet music for that. I don't play any instruments and can't sing,it just hangs on the wall.

Mine is Edison Diamond disk, black label, catalog No. 50227-L,

Tenor with orchestra
Billy Murray.
The flip side is "Tip-Top Tipperary Mary.
Lets just say it was well played before I got it!
So archaic. Love it. I have a postwar (1946) Firestone console with a 78 player in it. Time to break that out of the shop again and play my old 78s.
One thing I am curious about - he mentions a limousine. I had no idea there was a car class for that back in1915.
Here are 1915 Winton and Mercer limousines:
But they were built for a select elite. Fortunately you could buy a Wadsworth top and turn your brass radiator Ford into a limo for just $60:
A lot of old sheet music is also on the web:
I have a copy of this, too
We are a couple of danish Model T and 78'er entusiasts that are looking for that record...
Michael:
Download from the internet, cheaper than buying an original record disc. I have a copy on Edison Diamond Disc, only played on a Edison phonograph due to the "hill & dale" recording. Not for sale.
Another song of interest, although of a 2003 vintage, is The Ballad of Henry Ford. It is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPOEufkAeHc

I have the "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along" on piano roll. Neat song!
Mike
Hi Guys, I have a few pieces of sheet music and they do come in LHD and RHD, I have both versions of "Henry made a lady out of lizzie".

Hi All: My wife plays the guitar and sings---and would love to have a copy of "The Little Ford Rambled along" If the sheet music is available or anyone knows how I might obtain a copy I'd certainly be beholden. Thanks for any suggestions. Dewey
Here's a thread from 2010

You can find the sheet music easily on eBay - it was a big hit so there are lots of copies still out there. It's for piano,so a guitarist is going to have to work out the chords.
The rare one is It's a Rambling Flivver which I haven't been able to get hold of, either sheet music or record.
It should not be difficult to find a copy of this, either on cylinder, diamond disc,or 78. This record was extremely popular in the day. Ebay should be the easiest place to wrangle up a copy.
"Henry's Made A lady Out Of Lizzie" is a little tougher to find on cylinder. It's in the "5000 series" of Edison blue amberol records which are collectible on their own.
I have the Records mentioned above and also the following: "Out In An Automobile by Collins and Harlan on Victor 4709", "I'm Wild About Horns On Automobiles That Go nTa-Ta-Ta-Ta by the Rounders On Domino 4257-B", "Flanagan's Second Hand Car by Steve Porter on Radiex 4002", Keep Away From The Fellow Who Owns An Automobile by Walter Van Brunt on Columbia A1252", "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along by Arthur Fields on Columbia A1754", "The Little Old Ford And The Big Rolls Royce by Arthur Fields on Grey Gull 8105, "Cohen Phones About His Auto by Mike Silver on Silvertone 8304B". My copy of "Henry's Made A Lady Out Of Lizzie " is by the Clicquot Club Eskimos on Columbia 1281-D.
Don't forget, when Henry Ford Apologized to Me.
It's some where around here, Columbia I think.
Get Out and Get Under.
Mark G, are you a member of OTAPS?
I've got a piano roll called Tin Lizzie, and another called The Ford, which predates the Model T.
and don't forget Lord Mr. ford by Jerry Reed in 1973 referring to the model T and the resulting chaos later. very funny lyrics. type in Lord mister Ford on the search and it'll pop up. John
Re Mike's post above. The song was titled Since Henry Ford Apologized to Me, and I found it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8w3ADqWp8Q
Also, the lyrics are at: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Since_Henry_Ford_Apologized_to_Me_%28The_Happiness_Boys%29

Thanks John. It is Victor, not Columbia. I even have it, ain't old age fun.
I recently acquired a copy of "Since Henry Ford Apologized to Me" on the dime store Perfect Label (Jones and Hare performing like the Victor label version). The circled "E" indicates is is an electric recording. I believe was recorded in 1927.
Another recent acquisition is "Ann and Her Little Sedan."
See photos below.
I also have various versions of Henry's Made a Lady Out of Lizzie (the Harry Reser/Cliquot Club Eskimos version on Columbia is probably the most common one found) and a some records by the Henry Ford Old Time Orchestra.
I'm a casual collector of 78 rpm records and I attend a lot of estate sales. My problem is I collect them faster than I listen to them. I have about 300 records waiting to be cleaned before I listen to them.
My dad collects automobile sheet music.
Also - the Lester Levy sheet music collection has a lot of automobile sheet music. It is easily accessible online and the sheet music can be downloaded and printed. Browse boxes 57 through 63:
