How do you remove the old bushings from the fan? I have the 1920 riveted type fan. Two bushings supposedly go on. The question now is: How do you get the old ones off? Many thanks!
Is the body of the fan steel/iron or brass? If it the steel/iron, cut thru just the bushing with a hacksaw then punch them out, then press in the new ones and ream to size. You don't need to cut thru the flange part of the face just the part that the shaft fit's through. If it's the brass body, can't, the bushings are part of the casting.

You could run a tap in the id then knock out the bushing with a punch.
Ted, an "id?" What is that?
Ok. Got it!
3/8 or 1/4 (NPT) pipe tap should work. A regular straight type could get pricey for the size needed. If you have a piece of 1/2" brass rod to use as a punch that would be best, if not, don't pound the crap out of it, go easy.
