I have a damaged brass headlight off my 1912 Torpedo. Where is a good place to send it for repairs? It ...sigh...got a little crumpled. Thanks.
Most silversmith's advertise in your local yellow pages.
I had the cotter pin come out of brass rim of a Solar bail lamp on the 1906 Moline touring. The seven inch brass lamp front door with the glass lense rolled down the highway at 40 miles an hour and between the wheels of an 18 wheeler. When it finally stopped it looked like a modern rubber tire because the rounded section had been flattened like a tire tread with a lot of road contact.
It took them a week and $125 later it was like new and they even duro-chemmed it for me. It is possible that they spun a new one because the original one was a mess. They polished out the flaws in the curved glass lense and that lamp looks better than the other one now.
I am in Long Beach, CA and can send you their address and pohone number if you wish but there is most likely a good place closer to you.
These guys are silversmiths and not body and fender men.
Try a band insturment repair shop.
Gilbert Metal Products makes beautiful repro E&J lamps. I broke a lens on my original 1908 Pat. tail light, and they sent me a whole new door, and it fit perfectly.
Wayne, the owner, just bought a 1919 towncar.

Brass light and horn repairs: try Mark Metzler,Elkhart,In. mark@metzlerbrass.comor 574-862-4526.
I second Jack's recommendation! Mark has done outstanding work not only for me but friends in NY and here in TN as well- a real craftsman, but not a prima donna who will not only overcharge, but will also return the work in very reasonable time.
Thanks for the information folks! I shall now proceed!
