I, as well as many other T owners have seen a decline in Model T parts available at the various Swap Meets, for a number of different reasons. Except of course those who are restricted to Pre-war.
I would like to see a "Shoe Box Swap Meet" be offered during Model T Tours. They could just be a couple hours in the evening, or on a short tour day, or what ever fits in the tour schedule.
I for one would participate at each tour. I am doing 4 tours this year alone.
Look at it this way,you would certainly have a captive Model T audience, and the participants and locals would bring out parts that would otherwise never see a regular swap meet.
Don,
That sounds good to me! I think everybody could enjoy what you suggest at any tour.
Maybe there is no need for the tour promoter to do anything. We could just bring extra parts along and open the tow vehicle trunk in the evening in the hotel parking lot.
That's what we did on a tour we hosted in 2003 in the White Mts. of Az.
Don,
That is a great idea...a true "swap meet." I think many would be interested.
Joe
We also had a shoe box swap meet during the Wednesday afternoon on the 2004 tour in San Diego.
