The chamfer size appears to be different on the two pistons shown but the actual height of the top of the piston above the deck appears to be the same. The pistons are simply of a different design and may result in a slightly different compression ratio.


Measure the distance from the deck to the tops of the two different pistons and see what the dimension is.

Hi Will,

No, it's not right. I don't know which piston heights, if any, are correct. I would suppose that your connecting rods are not all the same length. Most likely when the rods were rebabbited at some time the babbitt was not bored with the correct center to center distance on one or more of the rods. If they were all done at the same time you would think they would all have the same center to center distance but they may have not all come from the same source.
