Does any one make a hot air pipe that does not need to be highly modified to fit, this is going on a 24,i had to rebuild the one i used on my 26.I think i could make a better one, the new one does not look like the one in the service manual.Any suggestions?
Thanks for any ideas.
Rick
I have bought them directly from the vendor and installed on the car. I don't remember any serious modification. there is one problem with the hole which is cut for the manifold clamp to go through. You might need to file it out a bit to get the clamp horizontal. That is the only modification I had to do.

Richard. The picture below is of a hot air pipe on an ebay auction that ended on July 18. The item number was 360280335984. The starting bid was $10.00 and there were no bids. You might want to look up the seller and see if he is going to re-list it or if he wants to save on re-listing costs and sell to you directly. Jim Patrick
Jim that is an original hot air pipe for a 1925 era T with an Holley NH carb.
The flat area above the attachment ear is required for the mixture adjusting shaft.
The modern reproduction hot air pipe needs to be pounded flat in that area to accomdate the mixture adjustment shaft, if the NH carb is used on a 1926 in place of the vaporizer carb.
A hot air pipe don't look like it is required, but it is very important for good engine performance.
It is also a safety item to divert a back fire flame from setting any loose gas or debris on fire in the carb area and has to properly fit into the carb to perform that function.
I recently bought one just like that one for $15. They are still around.
Yes. This is what I have on my '26 along with the NH carb. The flat part fits over the exhaust manifold and causes the NH carb to draw hot air into the engine as it is running. This and the intake pipe is what the old timers used to heat with a blow torch to help in starting the T on cold mornings. Jim Patrick
There are always lots of them at Chickasha; it's only 8 months away!
I found that i have the triangle shaped clamps,i am going to change to the V shaped one that can be used either way,it looks like it should work OK.
Thanks for the responses
