Okay. Assuming I ever had the time and money to do something like that (and that far from Califunny). How does one get an "invitation"?

You only need an invitation if you want to bring a vehicle. To attend with out a vehicle, all you have to do is show up and purchase admission tickets.

Guess I didn't answer your question Wayne :-) To get an invitation, you need to fill out an application form and send it in. The forms are on The Henry Fords website. Not all applicants are accepted, but I don't know what they go by when deciding which vehicles to accept.

I used to live near there and they only like to have completely restored cars. No stupid rods and no unfinished cars. They do not appreciate "Barn fresh" as we do.

They used to allow any older running car under reconstruction. But, as they got more cars to show they got picky as to the above and they want a good range of years and types. They have blocks of old buildings that are completely restored and they only allow the old cars in the old area to make the visitors feel that they are back in time. I works! Worth the drive.

Barn Fresh?? There are often very early unrestored cars that are owned by the original Detroit auto families. Very interesting and items that you only see at this show.

My son recently purchased a barn fresh '29 and immediately got it running, de-mouse-ified, and insured. He'll be the Old Car Festival along with his '12 touring. My brother is going to help him with the second car.

I also got confirmation my wife's '24 and my '16 so we're going to be busy moving cars in a couple of weeks.
