I use it all the time. Works as advertised.
Thanks Ed,
I may try their "paper towel and plastic sheet" method on some of my sheet metal. Perhaps old bed sheet and plastic drop-cloth!

Yup....I have used it and it works good.
Excellent stuff. 24 hours will make it like new.

The gas tank in my car was a mess when I bought it. The car hadn't been run in a few years so I removed the tank, cleaned it, used Evapo-Rust purchased from Tractor Supply, and re-installed it. I've had gas in the tank for several months now and last week I drained some into a bottle to check and it was crystal clear with no trace of sediment or rust. So far so good.
I used it on a lot of my T parts. The only tool I really used an old toothbrush.
It works really well. Most of the time I just dropped a part in my bucket of evapo-rust and came back the next day and the rust was gone. Afterwards I would wash them down (water) and dry them off with a towel.
I cleaned all the old nuts and bolts just incase I wanted to reuse them or for a reference to get new ones and they have not rusted at all this summer.
Evaporust sells for a lot of different prices at different stores. Five gallons is $89.99 at one store and next door it is $103.33. gallons are $20 and $33, so watch where you go. You can mail order it over the internet but you must pay shipping on top of their retail price which is the same as Kragen-O'Reilly sells it for.
We tried it at a Model T Club show and tell dog and pony show meeting night but it didn't do much of anything in an hour, it did discolor the washing off water so it had started to remove the rust from a very rough nut and bolt that were rusted together.
What ever happened to using Coca Cola to remove rust?
Woops --I know!
We can't use Coca Cola for rust removal until we run out of rum!
Thanks for the thread, I just bought two old gas cans that will need cleaning out.
Works OK, but some mixed results from 'like new' to 'use the sand blaster' - (with fresh stuff as well).
Never heard of it, Wish i had known of its existance. From reading what you guys have said it looks like i should go find some.
