Thank you for posting. A very nice paint job. Based on the nice paint and the doors going all the way to the bottom of the body I would assume a fairly new 1913.

Yes.
Chains were often used to combat mud and slippery roads (such as cobble stones with 'horse exhaust' on them) - also on the front wheels to try and get some grip for steering.

When My Dad had to stop and put the chains on my brothers and i would always ak our mother if we could listen to Daddy put he chains on. There were always new words we would learn.
That's funny Aaron. I probably use a lot of those words your dad used when I'm laying in a snow bank putting my chains on. It just seems to help.
