Larry, Moe, and Curley (sound familiar?) owned a Model T that was running rough and needed a tune up. The mechanic said it would be $30 paid in advance. So each of the boys chipped in $10. As it turned out the sprak plugs were OK so the mechanic told the cashier to refund the boys $5. The cashier thought it was too hard for the boys to devide the $5 three ways so he kept $2 and refunded $3. This meant each of the boys paid $9. Well three times $9 is $27 plus the $2 the cashier kept is $29. Where did the other dollar go?
It wasn't returned, so they paid a total of 28.00 for nothing!
Sprak Plugs are an old brand name of "SPARK PLUGS" Really. OK, I was trying to cover up. Sometimes my fingers get out of sequence when I'm typing.
Gary,
I hate it when that happens!
$30 - $5 refund = $25
Each guy paid $9 X 3 =$27
$27 - $2 (kept by cashier = $25
Larry Moe and Curley should have gone to Manny Moe and Jack. Then they would have gotten their moneys worth, and a "Peppy" car to boot!

Now you know why my wife handles the money!
