I've been searching for a 71 Thunderbird for months and found one in Ohio. Blown engine, fine by me, I've got the right one, but most transports want the car to run. Who has had dealings with transports that they can recommend? I remember that one of the men in the MTFCA classifieds was warned against.
This is a somewhat sentimental buy for me. It is to fill in for the car my grandmother gave me that was stolen.
Dolores
Dolores, I recently used VIP Transports out of North Carolina to transport a nonrunning T. They hauled it from Georgia to Houston in an enclosed double stacked trailer. Cheaper than everyone else I contacted, too. 1-704-921-2626. Ask for Reba or Jerry
dolores, i used "jims truly vintage" for a transport of a very valuable car. he did a great job at about 1/3 of what others wanted. overall, i'm very happy with his service. IMHO i think the complaint against him was from one lone nutcase. thats the only one i have heard speak against him, and it wasn't for his hauling services. as with any small transporter, you must be patient until they build a trip, but i only waited a couple of weeks. another option is to post a "wanted" ad, to see if a hobbiest is running empty between your point A & B ........ i've done that several times and lucked out.
There are a few internet sites where you can get multiple quotes with just one enquiry. Google "car transport quotes"

It is possible to transport a car in the back of a semi trailer. We have done it before. You use a roll back wrecker to load and unload into the trailer. Just roll it in and set the parking brake.....
If you only rely on the parking brake for transport a smashed/ruined car might be the least of your problems!!!! Bud.
Thanks so much, I'll contact these guys tomorrow, and see who googles up. Your help is appreciated.
