I have had this piece for a long time. They go on the top of the wood fire walls to help keep some of the rain out of the coil box. I am going to put this on John Birks Model T Auction Site but I don't know what they are called. Can anyone help me. I have look through the catalogs but can not find any.
A drip channel?
A scuttle gutter?
A rain diverter?
An ACME COIL-DRY?
Just guessing,
I'll check with Floyd Clymer.
Chris Martin
Drip rail is what I've always heard.
3639B Dash weatherstrip, top. Metal channel with rain gutter.
Do-hicky !!!

Thanks for the number. I still have not found it in any of the catalogs, I will have to look through some of my earlier pre 23 parts books. Do you have any idea what year they were. My 19 did not have one and it was very original.

Dave - The part is listed in Bruce's comprehensive parts list. The description notes that the rain gutter was added to the weather strip in 1919, but leaves the question as to "when" in 1919 this change was made. It was used on the wood dash until the change was made to the low steel dash in 1923.
Thanks again Phil, I added one to my August 1919 Center door but had no idea of what year they were used. I just thoughtit would be a good addition.
