1927 Fordor, back seat side window (quarter window?), is the little knob at the front all that raises and lowers it? With no regulator, does it stay up okay? Don't see by the catalog I have at home that it had a strap.

There is an arm underneath the window channel with a spring that provides counterbalance. The little knob does a good job of moving and locking the glass in position

Excellent, thanks gentlmen. We were cleaning the T up today and Dad mentioned that he did not know if it should have an extra strap or not. We'll be trailering to our first little "event" on Saturday and going next weekend to our first show. No door windows yet, and only part of the upholstery back in, but we're going. So many things we still don't know and so many others things yet to be discovered!

The 1/4 window operator (rod) has a coil spring captured out of sight at it's base. This imparts a rotary action that holds the handle engaged in the side notches. A replacement spring kit is available from Lang's. I'm sure that they also have the counterbalance spring if that is needed.

Dolo F. - In answer to your "does it stay up" question, yes with the correct mechanism in place the top lever fits into the slotted side well and keeps the window properly in place. I'm not much good at posting pictures to the forum but if you send me your e-mail address I'll send you a pic.

I think this came up once before, so I checked and still had the photos of the quarter panel innards on my '26 Fordor. Here's the counterspring and arm (up position):

...and the knob in one of the notches:

There's no strap involved.

Thank you all for the responses and to Bruce for the pictures. I'm really grateful for you guys who carefully document how these cars go together.
