I have just purchased a 30 A roadster. I got two females so they should not multiply?
O.K., I'll ask, how can you tell they're females?
Cars do not know male from female, they multiply and multiply and than storage buildings multiply to match. Don't ask me how I know this??

Correction, cars can congregate..that happens all the time.
But Andrew is correct, his two cars are female and different species on top of that. Everyone knows that T's propagate other T's
Mixing an A with a T just gets you nothing
Congrats! Welcome to the world of Modern Iron...haha
Post a pic, I'd like to see it. I have a 31 Roadster in pieces, like 90% of my fleet.
In the movie Jurasic Park the idea was that all the dinosaurs in the park would be female. This would prevent reproduction and thereby provide control of the dinosaur population.
Unfortunately, frog DNA was used to fill in the gaps in the dinosaur DNA they had recovered from mosquitos preserved in amber. Female frogs, so the movie claimed, could morph into males to assure continuation of the species. The dinosaurs obtained the ability to do this from the frog DNA in them and the rest is history.
Is there a parallel here?
I agree, I don't think T's and A's are capable of cross propagation. I have a '25 T and a '24 Chevrolet. They dislike each other so much I don't dare park them close to one another. Of course the T dominates. He is much stronger and tougher.

I 100% agree vintage auto's can reprduce. I left my 23 and my 19 in the garage for just one winter and came back to find a 15 Smith. Then the three of them must of had some kind of party and now I have a 41 Olds. I cant wait to open the garage in the spring and see what they come up with next!
The reason I know they are both female is they leak and nothing is wrong.
And I assume they get "cranky" on a monthly basis?
I know my T is a guy because it takes a leak anyplace it wants to. It's also very cranky on cold mornings.
Be careful guys, I have my "T" next to my 41 plymouth mutt [chevy engine, ford rear, plymouth body, and some parts I have no idea about]and I have noticed some of the pieces have started to intermingle, I try to discourage this kind of interaction but as soon as my back is turned nature takes it's course.
A female WILL definitely stop cars from multiplying in your garage, no matter what gender the cars happen to be. But it's not a female car that does the stopping. The stopper is a female called "The Wife".

We have a new addition to our T and A fleet - a 1942 Ford Tudor Sedan. Given the T Touring and A Town Sedan parentage, the genomics of that are perplexing but certainly point to an interesting recombinant event resulting in a doubling of cylinders and generally larger proportions.
Also would suggest that we have one of the names wrong since the T is "Bessie" and the A "Ruby". Suggested name for the new addition at this point is "Eleanor" which makes some assumptions as well...
Wayne - Seems like a '42 might be a pretty rare car! It wouldn't happen to be olive green would it?
Yes, the 42's are very rare but ours is not olive drab. Production of the '42s started in October '41 and ended at the end of Dec. when production switched to the war effort. A small number were produced as Army staff cars and were OD. Ours is completely original; exterior, interior, and drive train - and we will certainly be keeping it that way.
You folks need a biology lesson!
Automobiles do not procreate in the same manner as humans or animals.
There are no eggs and other squirmy stuff involved.
Automobiles produce offspring by invading the minds of their human owners and making them spend money. In many cases the human does not remember the money spending action and thinks the new vehicle just shows up in the garage. The male of the species is significantly more susceptible to the mind takeover thus the female is usually the blocking force to the automotive expansion (AKA AE disease). But sometimes the female of the species lacks the genes to stop the mind takeover and an automotive explosion is eminent.
There are times that things called checkbook or bank get in the way, but that is only temporary because the AE disease is an addiction and the multiplication of automobiles in the garage become one of the basic necessities of life.
In any case the sinister little bastards never stop – get one and your in trouble – get two and they gang up on you – get three and there is an 87.3% chance a 4th is on the way. There is no cure! Once it starts the only relief is to get another vehicle.
I recently came to the realization that whatever I buy also owns me. Care and feeding and storage, money tied up until the item is disposed of, etc., are all things that control the human "owner".
I feel better with one T I can drive anywhere, anytime, than with a dozen I would be merely a caretaker of.

Ralph,
Your a better man than me (and better mechanic, I need several just to have one ready most of the time).
Rob
Not so, Rob. I just learned by experience that the second vehicle gets little attention, because the first one is always more urgent.

Ralph, there is a lot of truth in your last 2 posts. That's why I've been trying to downsize lately.
Rick and Rob remind me of my Alfa Romeo days in NY --
I needed three just to have something to drive.
One broken waiting for me to figure out what was wrong.
One waiting for parts.
and one that worked.
I also also had a Datsun "Fairlady" and VW Bug to get me thru the times that the one that worked fell into one of the other two catagories.
It did not help that my job had me in Europe 4-5 times a year, there was travel in the US when I was home, and I was involved with a Nascar Modified and sports car racing..
O.K. Everyone here is the way it is. I have been told I should build another car. I have a '19 Touring and a '17 Depot Hack. Well It would be nice to have another car, but I would have to build and addition to my garage. So this is what would happen-if I told my wife I was going to this car

Here's a pic I hope.
Looks good! If you're taller you'll like the fact that it has the Standard windshield & top.
I thought about building mine as a '31 Standard. It'll give me an excuse to go with black wheels & tires.. haha
