If you want to see the Rarest of the Rare check out the Latest Model T Times Nov-Dec Issue.
There is an article on Jim Finney's 1909 Coupe.
I was fortunate to have been at the unveiling of this car (and Jim's 80th Birthday) and to see it in person gives you Goosebumps. The car is simply amazing!
I can't think of a better custodian than Jim, as far as I'm concerned Jim is also national treasure.I am honored to to call Jim friend.

Several of us stopped by Jim's place while driving our T's to the Centennial. It was almost as exciting seeing Jim's collection of T stuff as it was attending the Birthday Party. He is quite a guy. Unfortunately, the '09 Coupe was away at a restoration shop and we didn't get to see it. It'd be worth making the trip again just for that!
Sooooo, post pics!
Yes. Many of us are not MTFCI members and don't have access to their magazine. Pics would be nice.
Sorry I do not have a scanner
-Don
Bugger, I was looking forward to seeing them too! Dave C.
People can buy the book from the club and it might make a great referance?? Bud.
Hey, Bud -- Don't forget, we're Model T guys. (cheap!) We want someone to scan the pics and post them here for us.
Mike,If you send it back i will send you mine to scan?? Bud. PS,With all the buzz about this fine car i would not be supprised to see a couple more to show up in 5 to 10 years?? Bud.
I will try to send a pic.
Wow! You weren't kidding Don! That is a thing of beauty. Must be the "Eddy Bower" version.
Thanks for the pic Dave.
I grew up about 9 miles from Jim's place and I saw this car before he started on it. It sure came out nice. I believe there are at least 3-4 in exsistance. They are very rare.
Hi Jack,
Having helped Jim with the research on this car we have NEVER heard of another 1909 Coupe like this one.If you look at Snyder's Coupe its a totally different car.
The 1910 Coupe's have regular doors while the this one has suicide doors, and the panel below the windshield is a solid panel while this has a lower glass panel.
Something to remember when we said Rarest of the Rare we weren't kidding Only 47 Coupes were produced in 1909

I'm drooling on my key board...What a BEAUTIFUL car!
Magificent. Thanks for the photo...Dave C
Wasn't there a restoration build up thread in the T Times a couple of years ago? It sure is a beautiful car. Would love to see some interior detail pics. Stunning!!
Hi Gary,
----For members of Both Clubs----
Perhaps you are referring to our article in Model T Times Jan-Feb 2006 #341 which has an article on the Early Coupes.
We never received any additional information/photos after this article ,but they also gave out the wrong email address >>> modelttowncarclub@yahoo.com (they left out a 't'
We are still looking for photos of the 1909-12 Coupes!!!!!
-Don
This was probably an early (April?) 08 issue I recall. Several pictures of the body re-construction and reassembly. Many interior pics and even showed detail of how the clips mounted holding the inward tilting windshield. I hope I'm not imagining that multi page story :-)
Hi Gary,
Check out the Model T Times Nov-Dec 2007 #352 which shows Craig Beek's 1910 Coupe Restoration including the clips you mentioned that hold up the windshield when open. You have a good memory.
-Don
Thank you Don. That was the one I remembered.
Both are stunning examples.
I believe Craig Beek's coupe is a replica body copied from Jim Finney's. I believe Don Snider's car is also a reproduction body, making Finney's car the only known original 1909 - 12 coupe known to exist.
Got my issue today, got to read it yet, nice
Jack Mahaffey is also building a 09 coupe, I believe the body for his car was constructed entirely from photographs. It is a beautiful car, the body was built several years ago by a man in Canada.
