Does any one have any information about this Jack? Is it for a buggy or a car? It would be quite difficult to lift a car since it has no ratcheting mechanism - it only raises the distance moved by moving the handle from the up position to the down position. It was made by the Ashland Mfg. Co., Eureka, but has no date on it.
Roy, it is only meant to go under the hub and take the weight off of the tires during more extended periods of non-use of the vehicle. You put it under the hub, slip the mechanism up to the hub with the lever up, push the lever down to the home position and the weight is off of the tire.
Donald is right,it is a storage jack. I have two sets and carry one on each of my cars as they make an excellent jack for on the road. Trip it over center and you are ready to deal with the flat. They do have a tendncy to roll forward or back depending on the surface under the car so a chock is necessary.
