"Hello, I have the merchandise listed in the link above still in excellent working condition,
let me know if you are still interested so i will send you information. Where are you
located and how much are you willing to spend. Send me your phone number as well so we can discuss better.
Aaron"
Yes it is
That's exactly why I have quit posting ads there. In the future, if I have something for sale, it'll end up on Ebay.
My rather short to-the-point response to a posting about an eBay scammer "The penalty for internet scamming should be chain gang hard labor, for about three years to start."
It still stands.

(I know, I'm not very nice.)
Perhaps the ads could be posted at the forum instead, then all of us who don't want scam replys don't have to post our email adresses - anyone who would like to reply would have to join the forum and reply through the forum by private message.
There is a separate forum for events that hasn't been used for a year - all the events are posted here. Perhaps it should be renamed ads instead, to keep the regular 2011 forum for discussions only.
I have posted many ads on the MTFCA website, it is the best. After all the years of ads and e-mails I can spot scammers and scams easily, often before I open the e-mail. This is where the delete button comes in handy. I do not bother with them, fear them or care whatsoever about them. Ignoring the scammers is the best. I just DELETE tham and move on. Why waste your time and energy on these scumballs?
When you post your ad, just ad something in your e-mail address and tell people to remove it. I quit using "no spam" because I would still get a spam with it. I think that the scammers have a program that removes that. Thanks, Dan
I did pretty good with a MTFCA classified ad--that's how I bought my Model T. Just had to weed out the obvious scammers and that wasn't difficult. When I ran into a guy who sounded like he had the car I wanted, I googled his name and good things were being said about him all over the internet, so I knew he was okay.

i agree with jeff , dan and bob. i use the MTFCA classifieds all the time and have fantastic results. i have purchased many neat items that i would never have found otherwise, and have sold tons of stuff, too. if you ever respond back to a scammer, you have way too much time on your hands. for the very few that get through to me, it takes a split second to make them vanish. i'm sure not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but i can spot a scammer a mile away ! when in doubt, just delete. i wish more T people would use the classifieds , and i have been very fortunate to fill most of my wants using the site. it is a great benefit of being a club member, and in my opinion, the best old car site out there.
Is there a way to attach photos to the MTFCA classified adds ?
Kelly
You can include pictures with your classified ad if you get a free account with a image sharing website such as Photobucket and include a link to the photos in your ad:

thanks for the coments. I will put something in my e-mail address to slow them dowm. "still looking for a used cocoa mat for my 14 T touring" see my ad. thanks Bob
I really wish something would be done about the classified section it's more dangerous than using Craigslist. The one time I used it I got nothing but scams & spams. The MTFCA classifieds could be a wonderful tool for legit members but right now its a vipers nest. Everything I've bought from a forum member (I'm not talking about through the classified section) has been 100% as described or even better and much better prices than anywhere else too. It's a shame what's happened. Jimmy
Did he sign it as John, if so l had the same reply to my door hinge request. From England! !!!
David
no, he signed it "Aaron" how can you tell where it was from? Bob R
