I have always liked the look of the double spare tire on the back of the early racers.

At a swap meet I purchased a couple of “add a spare” brackets but realized they only work with demountable rims.
For my Cruiser project I intended to use a T roadster spare tire bracket but the angle didn’t work out. So I made my own from scraps I had around the shop.
Robb,
I always loved that twist in racing photos. That one is particularly interesting as the camera was following the car so the crowd in the background twisted more than the car did.
Thank you for the update.

Very nice Robb. The back bodywork of my racer (it was Manny's) is broken due to the weight of the spare bouncing around. The carrier wasn't mounted on the spring but to the wood and it is a small headache to deal with. Yours will work well and I may have to borrow your idea (if I can just at the crossmember at all !!)

Thanks guys. I will keep posting until I get the project drivable.
I also have one of those double spare carriers. With some minor fab it can be turned into a nice runningboard tire holder. Not so much useful on a racer, unless it was the making of a neat slingshot !!
