I have been looking around at Werner bubble lenses, etc, but before I buy I would like to know what the diameters are on 1913-earlier headlights (don't have a set of lights yet). What should I be looking for, max and min? E&J 456/656/666/66; Corcoran; Brown; CLASSCO; etc.
nobody has a set of lights they can verify?
Well, I ended up taking a chance on a pair of spiralite headlight lenses on ebay as a BIN. At $50, ok to gamble, but still need to know if they'll fit a pair of E&J 66's...
Neat lenses...almost look like lotus flowers.
?
Hi Bob,
I think the outside diameter has to be 7 maybe 7 1/4 to fit inside the frame. You may also have a little trouble with the thickness as it closes.
Like you I found a pair of 1912 More Lite Lenses that I made fit the E$J's on my Torpedo. I really like the cool sort of flower like pattern but not sure how much "more" light they might make. Lucky I don't drive very much at night.
Good Luck
He He, I have both Warner and More Lite lenses on some of my T's. The good thing about them is that as long as there is a car in front of you traveling your speed you will be able to see. They look neat but do not focus the light well. I have found that you can fit up to 7 3/8 size lenses in a T headlight with out problems. 7 1/4 fits best.
Paul
Thank you Paul and Gene. I really like the look of these lights (lenses) as well. Snazzy!
If anyone asks, I will tell them they are Confucian Lotus Petal designs meant to calm horses as they approach!
pics fo your cars with these lenses, so others may know what we are discussing?
