I found some old slides of grandpa's of T tours, etc. There are so many but I decided to put a couple of random slides up here on the forum. Maybe someone out there will have some kind of connection or memory of one of them! I've got 10 slides to post, so I'll break them into two posts of five pictures.

I love the top on that touring in the second picture.
The first two are from the 1977 tour in Fulton MO. The man in the first pic I believe is Ted Ashman. The car in the second pic at the time was owned by Dick Oswell from Denver. He passed two years ago after giving a big donation of Model N parts to the Piquette plant.
Right you are Jerome, Dick Oswald and Bob Plegge put that car together. I was a member of the Mile-Hi chapter back then. I purchased my first T from Dick. He was dear and long time friend.
Great pics. These were taken right around the time when I started to get the urge to own one. (Jr. High and High School).
I'm with Steve...love the top on that second pic...grin..
On the web now, I have seen several pics with Ts that have fun sayings written all over them like that second pic. When/how did that tradition start??
I believe I've seen more slides of that T owned by Dick Oswell... pretty interesting T! :-)

I don't know when the practice of writing cute stuff on old cars started, but it goes way back. You sometimes see it in silent comedies of the teens and twenties.
My 1931 Fordor had GIRLS WANTED - APPLY AT DRIVERS DOOR visible under its circa 1950 paint job. I also have the inside sun visor that has the former owners name and those of his friends and girlfriends on it.
There was also a horn bolted to the underside of the car with its trumpet exending under the rear seat. It went to one of the many extra buttons mounted near the dash.
Fulton Mo tour was 1976
The 3rd & 5th are from Western Hill Lodge in Oklahoma. My guess is that it was a National MTFCA Tour that Tulsa hosted in the late 60's or 70's? Western Hills is near Tahlequah, Oklahoma on Ft. Gibson Lake. Beautiful country and a nice drive for a T around the lake. I've made that trip many times on the Trail of Tears Tours with the Tulsa Regional Group - HCCA.
I belive the Nat'l was in Tulsa in 1978.
