This hitch clamps to the front bumper and tie rod of a Model T chassis to convert it into a trailer.
Jay - Certainly provides "food for thought"! I'd be willing to bet that because of many thrifty "do-it-yourself" farmers all over the country (and other countries) a lot of wheels, frames, front/rear axles, and maybe even a few Ruckstells still exist, and perhaps escaped WWII scrap metal drives due to many home-made Model T chassis farm wagons.
Just when it seems that just about "everything Model T" has been discussed on this forum, you seem to find a way to provide even more interesting topics for discussion. Thanks Jay; we all appreciate the wealth of information you provide within our hobby,..........harold
Neighbor used to have a hay wagon that consisted of a TT chassis and running gear. My depot hack was built from a similar situation. Got the car running gear from under an old hay wagon.
Of course you mean front axle, Jay.
I have one just like that, only different. It has a steel tongue. Dunno what I'd ever use it for.
Here's like the trailer my family towed from Nebraska to Oregon with a '29 A Tudor in Dec. 1933:

Ricks, yes I meant the front axle and senior momented out and said bumper, duh on my part. Thanks for the correction.
There are about 4 different ones about 20 miles east of me that I can have but I don't have any need for them. I took the 4 diffy's, 2 fairly straight frames, and and the 26 diffy with wire hubs. Harvested a 26 front axle and a pair of tight spindles. If anybody wants the trailer conversions, I can get pictures and bring them to Rochester. Otherwise, they are going for scrap.
Noel, please don't sell them for scrap. Hang on to them, I am sure that someone would like to have them to make a wagon to pull behind a T tractor conversion or an era correct tractor. Dave
Here are three (3) original trailer hitches that are looking for a new home. They have ridden into my yard on some Model T chassis over the years. One chassis is under the Hucksters Wagon shown on my profile. If interested in owning one or more of these "old-timers", send a PM. My appologies ahead of time for the shameless posting of an advertisement on the Forum.

I have several also, and have scrapped some too
