July 9, 2011 the 5th Annual Antique and Classic Car Show was held at the Sandwich Fair Grounds in Sandwich, New Hampshire. What a beautiful day and show it was, with almost three hundred antique and classic cars participating in today's show. Hosted by Profile Automobile League, Granite Region Antique Automobile Club of America and New Hampshire Lakes Region Model A Club. To their members who work on this event year round I solute you for another great car show and a job will done. It is my hope that everyone in the great world wide antique car fraternity, where ever they are located has a chance to get out and drive their automobiles and enjoy the friendship of other antique car lovers.

Yes, I did see the Stanly run and heard the train whistle, that sounded as great as any steam train that I have ever heard. Next to antique autos steam trains are my favorite, they are the only civilized way to travel when not driving a Model T.

1& 2 are reproductions, the rest are restored. The 1931 Chrysler Imperial was restored by my friend Dave and he has another twelve that he also restored. These three are also Dave's Chrysler's there isn't one of them that I would not drive home in a heart beat.

So the Auburn Speedster is one of those GM reproductions?

Bill the Auburn Boat tail is a reproduction on a Ford chassis with a 429 Ford motor. The 1931 Auburn Convertible Sedan is a restored original, with steerable Pilot light.

That Buick Model F roadster looks like Larry Hoagland's. If so, he'll be driving it on the HCCA National 1&2-Cylinder Tour out of the Chauncey Conference Center, Princeton, NJ the week of July 18-22. I'm the tourmaster. It'll be a small tour, about 13 cars. Come and kick tires if you like. I'll be driving my 1907 one-lung Cadillac.

Gil, you are correct, that is Larry's 1907 Buick. It has 22 HP 2 cylinder horizontal opposed engine. Larry's a great guy and I'm sure you will all have a wonderful time at the HCCA tour.

Great great stuff. They sure knew how to design cars then - less wind tunnel and CAD (well, no CAD actually) and more pure creativity.
