Guys: Need input on a way to lock a Goose-neck coupler on a trailer so I can drop it and not worry so much about it being stolen. Any body use one lock that is better than another? Thanks, Dan.
Dan, there's a scissor jack device that fits between the tires on the tandem axles and locks in place so that if the trailer is towed the tires won't turn. You could use these on one or both sides. Not sure what it takes to lock the hitch on a goose-neck but there's probably a way to do it. Happy T'ing. Bob

What style of hitch is on the trailer?
If it’s the miniature big rig style used on most holiday trailers
you can buy a special lock, but I just used a few links of chain
and a sturdy padlock around the groove in the pin.
Sorry I do not remember the chain size but just a few links joined
by the padlock fit tight in the groove. Perhaps 5/16 or 3/8” chain.
I no longer have the trailer and let the chain and lock go with it.
Here is a link showing some of the store bought styles.

Art: Thanks, but that is for 5th wheel, I have Gooseneck hitch. That is like most horse trailers. Dan
Dan,
Something like these?

I take the hitch out of the nose on mine and take it with me. I worry they will cut a lock. Mine has two studs that set the depth on the hitch, loosen though, throw it in the truck and I am off.
