By Steve Jelf, Parkerfield KS on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 - 12:57 am:I would guess that the larger brakes put the levers a little farther forward, which would require a shorter rod. This is theory. I haven't measured and compared. Why not measure the distance and go with whatever rods fit best?

The '26-7 rods work just fine although I don't think the earlier style rods would be a problem either. With the larger brake drums, you just don't need the "hump" in the early rods for radius rod clearance. Clevis adjustment may be necessary of course.

The early brake rod will NOT line up with the cam as good as the straight 26/27 rod.
