I found this ad in May 1922 American Exporter. Has anyone seen these prism glass colored visors? I am especially interested about this company as it is in Fresno, CA. I had no idea that there were tented visors back then.
Wow, that's actually kind of cool. Not sure I would install one, but like you, I wouldn't have guessed they had tinted glass like that.
Years ago, a friend of mine had a 1925 Stearns Knight. It had a tinted visor. He had to do a bit of research to get correct enough glass for it as the original was broken. He also found a few other originals. Yes, I've seen them.
NEAT advertisement. Thank you for posting it.

I had one of thes visors. It had a fairly thck piece of green glass in it. I never mounted it on my car because I worried that the brackets might not be strong enough to support the weight. Eventually sold it to a stained glass collector. ed26
Judging from the address to write to Fresno must have been a small place at the time or the F. & W. Manufacturing Company was so big everybody knew where it was located in Fresno.
I've seen tinted glass visors, mainly on enclosed cars, Fords and non-Fords.
Jay Leno's 1925 roadster was equipped with one when he first purchased the car.
