Very worthy of passing on......

> WARNING # 2
>
> Some knew about the red light on cars, but not the 112.
> It was about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind herand put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc.
>
> Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called112 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way.
>
> Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind.. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes.
> I never knew about the 112 Cell Phone feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe place.
>
> *Speaking to a service representative at Bell Mobility confirmed that 112 was a direct link to State trooper info. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about 112.
>
> You may want to send this to every woman (and man) you know; it may save a life.
>
> This applies to ALL 50 states
> PLEASE PASS ALONG TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY, IT CAN SAVE A LIFE...

Thanks, Robert. I did pass it along to my wife and a couple of ladies she works with who travel daily through rural areas.

Emails intended to alarm or outrage always send me here:

Not that it couldn't happen, but in this case apparently it didn't. We already have enough real things to worry about.

Reminds me of the supposed gang initiation deal back in the 90's where they were supposedly driving at night with out their lights and would chase down and shoot anyone who flashed their lights at them. Everyone was scared to death and it all turned out to be a hoax. It kills me what people come up with....and for what?

I've driven in many gang infested areas and never once was I or any one else on staff harassed as a result of some sort of gang initiation.

When I'd go to repossess their car- that was a different situation and things can get hairy real quick if one too many comes out the door and you're outnumbered. A J-hook is no match for whatever shooting iron they may have underneath that baggy shirt.

In my younger days I moonlighted as a bouncer for a local bar- gang members are p****s when you get them off to themselves. That's why they are in a gang, they are too scared to deal with a situation one on one.

Here locally there's been reports of people impersonating cops, but they were not tied in with any gang. Notice how the trend for the younger set is to buy an old cop car and put a Police Benevolent Assoc. tag on it along with a spotlight and push bar?
