Can anyone tell me the size of the nut that holds the steering wheel on?

The thread looks like 9/16-16, or maybe 5/8-16. I don't have taps or dies to check it and be sure. The pitch is definitely 16. The wrench size must be 1 3\32. 1 1\16 isn't quite big enough to fit, and 1 1/8 is a little loose but will work.

According to the Ford parts book it is 5/8 x 16.
