There is still time to plan for the annual Leaf Peeper Tour in Colorado High Country starting on September 24th. I firmly believe that the best weather that we have in Colorado is the Fall. The tour will start at Loveland on the first day and go to Walden, Co. The second day we will go from Walden to Granby and the third day we will go from Granby back to Loveland by way of Rocky Mountain National Park. Barring unforseen circumstances there will be no registration fee. For information please contact me at modelt12@msn.com. or call 303-774-9246.
The color is near or at its height in late September.
There will also be spectacular mountain scenary. This scene was shot in June and is between Fort Collins and Walden on Day One.
On day two much of the tour will be in BIG ranch country.
On day Three we will travel through Rock Mountain National Park including Kawuneeche Valley below. You are pretty much guranteed to see Moose and heards of elk in the valley.
I will try the pictures again.

The Roads on the Annual Leaf Peeper Tour are wide, paved with good paved showlders to pull over and let modern cars pass. Note grades are not steep, none of them are over 4.5 degrees. I have often been asked if you can do the tour with out a ruckstell. Although we recommend ruckstells cars with out ruckstells make the tour ever year succesfully with out ruckstells.
This pictures should give you an idea of the much of the showlders on the tour. Both cars are parked on the showder to take a picture of one of the crags.
One last picture of the color on the way to Walden, Day One.
Arrival at Walden and the Antlers Inn. A good place to get Rocky Mountain Oysters.
Some more cars arriving at Walden ready for a good dinner

On Day two the Leaf Peeper Tour will leave Walden and travel to Granby 37 miles on Mostly level driving. The first 21 miles will be through huge cattle and hay ranches.
We will stop in rand at the Rand population 10 for coffee and look over the Antiques at the store. After rand we will go over Willow Creek Pass the pass is so gentle that you won't even know you were going over a pass if someone didn't tell you. It will be high gear the entire day.
